Designing for humans, solving problems, and creating innovative experiences.

As a professional designer with expertise in user experience, interface design, and user-centered design methods, I’m inspired to elevate the way that humans interact with products, services and businesses. With an array of experience including Design, Communications, Marketing, and Public Relations, I bring a diverse and holistic approach to any problem or need that requires careful and thoughtful consideration.

What I’m All About

Experience Designer

I’ve designed for mobile and desktop devices for a variety of industries and projects, from education to gaming to financial (and everything in between) with a focus on usefulness and usability. From simple sketch drafts to high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes, designing with purpose makes for greater products and happier users.

Digital Strategist

From consulting with business teams to collaborating with technical partners, I’ve helped create value and buy-in from various stakeholders by identifying and integrating design as a core component to any business strategy, no matter the industry. This approach of putting the experience first inspires the next generation of user-centered products.

Champion for Users

Having worked in environments and industries where users are often misunderstood and ignored, I help bring the voice of the user to the table through user research and pushing for deeper understanding that bring confidence we’re doing the right thing.

Team Invigorator

Working alongside developers, business analysts, and fellow designers, I bring a wealth of knowledge with refining workflows and improving collaboration through Agile frameworks and promoting an open, unified mindset to doing great work and delivering exceptional product.

Jackman Reinvents – 2015

As a Marketing & New Business Intern, my internship with one of Toronto’s most innovative creative agencies enabled me to learn and refine my skills in market research, retail trend analysis, customer relations, and growth strategy. I also directly assisted in the short-term and long-term strategy of the Marketing team. From this experience, I developed sharpened Marketing knowledge about trends and tactics utilized by today’s brand leaders, and innovative ways to gain new customer insights.

Patio Interactive – 2014

As a design intern and prototype developer of the application, I conceptualized a mid-fidelity prototype of the game using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Flash) to simulate several scenarios of customers needing assistance with Cross-Border Banking products. I was in charge of designing the preliminary graphics, creating the user journey and storyboards, and programming the application through Flash. The end product was a working prototype of the game-application which served as the foundation for Patio Interactive’s project.

Portfolio

Take a look at some of the things I’ve helped to create.

TD.com Responsive Website

I’ve helped redesign several high-profile sections of the TD Canada Trust responsive website, from envisioning and research to conceptualizing and prototyping high-level designs with Mobile-responsive and best UX practices. Some of my highlights include:

Cross Border Banking – Interactive Training App

Working with Patio Interactive during my senior year of undergraduate, I conceptualized a skeleton version of a TD Bank game using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Flash) in order to simulate several scenarios of customers needing assistance with Cross-Border Banking. I was in charge of designing conceptual artwork and frames, creating the user journey and storyboards, and programming the application through Flash. The end product was a working prototype of the game which served as the foundation for Patio Interactive’s final product for TD.

Pathfinder – Augmented Reality Mobile App

Pathfinder was done as a proof-of-concept for an augmented-reality mobile app during my senior year of undergraduate. The app’s purpose was to help users find routes based on GPS foot traffic, with data ingested from both external sources (Google) and other users’ information. My process included defining requirements for users, creating journey maps and flows, storyboarding scenarios for ideal use cases, and presenting a project pitch for the application which combined unique experiences (augmented reality) with a practical solution for every day problems.

UTMPost – Mobile Newsletter App

This app was conceptualized with two classmates during my senior year of undergraduate. The app’s purpose was to help users find digital advertisements regarding University events and material by custom-tailoring ad notifications and genres to the user. Our main tasks included conducting field research and gather user testing information to determine the optimal design for notifying users (Push vs. Pull, Text vs. Graphics), developing low and mid-fidelity sketches and designs, and conducting mock prototype testing with paper prototypes.

LeagueStrat – Integrated Big Data App

This project was developed during my senior year in University with a group of classmates. The application’s purpose was to serve as a tool to help players during their play of the online game “League Of Legends”, and used IBM’s Watson as a corpus to learn about the game’s strategy and details in order to serve its purpose. The concept was then proposed as a business idea to a panel of professionals for its final test, which was received positively for its ability to add high value for little cost.

Furnal Equinox – Responsive Website

As the former Communications Coordinator for Anthropomorphic Events of Ontario, one of my responsibilities was updating and maintenance the organization’s convention website. I developed early wireframe designs for the navigation and detailed design(s). Additionally I helped develop content focused on combining concise, relevant information with a user-focused writing style and visual branding that fit the organization’s voice and tone.
