My design principles and philosophy

  1. Putting people first: I’m not the user, and therefore can’t design for my needs. Real people require realistic, useful, and useable solutions that I help them find.
  2. Know the real problem: There’s always a problem behind the problem – don’t assume the visible ones are the only problems.
  3. Make informed design decisions: Designing is an art that is backed by science and data – blending the two is what creates beautiful solutions and experiences.
  4. Take beneficial risks: Change and experimentation is needed. But only when the potential to create good can also mitigate the chance of introducing bad.
  5. Do good in the world: All work, no matter how small or big, should ultimately make the world a better place than it was before – whether for a few people, or for millions.
